I must away for a while

I am off to Cornwall tomorrow for a recharge of my
batteries, some rest,  a book full of inspiration and to listen to the sea.
Have fun while I'm away.

Recent purchases - fabric

Here are a few of my recent fabric purchases.

I have no idea what to do with any of them yet.

But they sang to me from various places.

A fabric shop.

A vintage shop.

More Rag rescue.

A car boot sale.

Err... Rag rescue again!
Each one beautiful in its own right.
Each one waiting for that special project.
Have a lovely evening Bloggers.

The Vintage Fair,The Caption Competition and possible the best book I've ever bought!

Yesterday Amy and I visited a local Vintage Fair in Nottingham.

I then had to try out the travelling vintage tea shop...

with cupcakes of course!

What a lovely idea ...

The china cups were beautifully displayed.

Yummy!

I found this lovely pink (surprise!) spotty box.

I have no clue what I'm going to do with it yet.
I'll let you know if anything comes to mind.
Meanwhile any suggestions are welcome.

On the same stall I found this gem.

Yes it is a PINK kitchen!

Who'd of thought pale blue, red and primrose yellow would
look so .... so 'lovely' together?

Ever wondered why your life is in chaos?
It's probably because you haven't got this book!

So ladies we need to complete the list above while dressing
like this ...

or this?

Sorry but I just love these two pictures.
I feel a caption competition coming on.
Want to play?

Pick either or both and I will give a prize to
the person who makes me laugh the most. :)

Here is proof that MAN FLU was around in the 50's

And finally, a lesson for us all, ladies a flower arrangement
is NOT complete without a bowl of figs accompanying it.
I wondered where I was going wrong!

Enjoy your Sunday.

Tea in the garden and recent makes by me.

Things are getting a lot more floral and rosy round here.

I bought this fabric a while ago and
have finally got round to using it.
(P.S. I have jet washed the patio this weekend ..
Grrr wish I'd taken the photos after not before!)

I've covered some oversized cushions
and made a tablecloth  with three coordinating fabrics.

Then just added a dash of CK, a string of twinkly lights
and a jug of peonies ... and we are ready
for tea.

I picked these lights up from John Lewis.

They are made of paper so can't be
left outside but they do look lovely lit or just as they are.

Will be back soon with finished patio soon.
Enjoy your evening.

Look what's growing in the garden!

This year is my first attempt at growing edibles.
I planted these a few weeks ago.
We have lettuce, onions, carrots and strawberries.

Wow! Things are starting to look hopeful.
We ate some of the lettuce leaves last night
with Steves Salmon Salad.
Delicious it was too!

I see signs of  strawberries.
Hardly a bumper crop but I can't
wait to taste them all the same.

I really don't remember planting this.
Do you think it could be a weed?

Finally a pic of my beautiful rose bush.
Pink, of course.

Have a fabulous Saturday.
I'm off to a vintage fair in Stamford.
