Daisy's doll making workshop and the night of the big moon

We've had a lovely day at Heaths Country Store
making rag dolls.

Lots of different shapes and sizes.

Sue's doll is going to be very tall
and has legs to die for!

A hive of activity and concentration ...

which needed Tuna Melt Steves chocolate brownie
to keep us going! Thanks Steve :)

The dollies soon got their fabulous outfits and accessories.

This is Jane's tiny angel doll.
She has the most fabulous hair don't you think?

Face are created and characters made.

This is another one of Annie's.
I just love her happy face.

This is Emma's first doll in her
gorgeous homespun outfit.
Another relaxed and fun workshop finished
we all set off for home.

I've been looking forward to this evening and the big moon.
In fact it's even been in my dreams this week.

It didn't disappoint.

I stood for ages taking lots of  photos.

Watching as dusk became night.

Big, bright, beautiful.

So glad I got to see it.
My cancerian self needed the boost.

Have a great Sunday.

Julie Arkell - One place left!

Ladies, I bring you tidings of great joy!

There is one space left on the Hope & Elvis workshop
on Saturday 19th March 2011 with
Julie Arkell.

A day with the lovely Julie has always left me buzzing
with ideas.

More photos of Julies work can be seen here

Hope & Elvis's studio if full of inspiration, beautiful
fabrics, trims, buttons and ephemera all there
waiting to be played with.  By you perhaps?
Enjoy your evening.

After the rain

The rain has finally stopped here for a while
and I've been able to go into the
garden and tidy up the pots
I brought with me when I moved.

Adding a few new bits here and there.

These are sitting by my back door making
me smile every time I walk past them.

Rain covered daffodils ...

looking for the sunshine.

I picked up this delightful children's book at the
car boot on Sunday.  A reminder of the
weather to come. (Hopefully!)

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Thursdays surprise

This is what I should have been sorting
out this afternoon.
The awful landing that I walk passed
with blinkers on every morning.

But on my trip out this morning I bought this
magazine as I do most months.
(heart hiding big orange Sainsburys
none removable sticker - yuk!)

So I poured a drink and opened
another button Easter egg (I'm on my
third this year - what can I say?)
and was happily browsing through
the pages when I looked at this
page and thought that heart looks familiar.

So I had a closer look...

and realised it was one that I had made!

Here it is with a few others I designed at the same time.

Then a few pages later was another one...

hiding in a basket.  This one was made out
of an old quilt piece.

I have to say it has made my day.
I had no idea they were going in the magazine.
A big thank you to Amanda at  Decorative Country Living
for sending them in.
Well back to the regular world.
I should probably go and clear the landing now.
Have a lovely evening.

Julie Arkell - A very late post!

This is an extremely late post but as I'm about
to go on another Julie Arkell workshop
I thought I should post last years first!

The workshop was held at Hope & Elvis
Some of Julies work was on display for inspiration.

My head was on overload with ideas.

 I just love her creatures.
These were brooches.

The wording seems to describe them perfectly.

Displayed on vintage clothing and
hung on old coat hangers.

More brooches but with buttons and
names this time.

This was one of my favourites

Oh and this one.

I wouldn't mind one of these either!

More gorgeousness.

All the Tic toc watches together.

Even the boxes are lovely.

Especially this one.

Just a couple more ...
A house and

 a rabbit.

Finally here are my attempts.

Very fiddly but fun.

This years visit is at the end of the month and
hopefully it won't take me a year to post it!
Enjoy your evening.
