Daisy's Home

To say I'm feeling happy is an understatement!
Finally after 7 weeks of stress, wasted days and high
mobile phone bills and still no connection from Sky
I have been connected back to blogland with the super efficient service of Virgin Media.
(It took them 2 working days from my phone request to being up and running!)
I have missed reading all of your blogs and I'm now trying to catch up
with everyone.

To cope with the stress I've been making little bits of
Christmas.
A baby sock  embroidered in red linen thread inspired by Jessie Chorley
and below a glass bauble filled with soft white glitter and
bits of vintage fabric hanging on a pink silk ribbon.

Slowly, things have started to take shape...

My two heroes have built my new wardrobes.

Christmas has started to appear.
I've had great fun finding new places for all the
decorations to go.
(I will post more photos tomorrow)

I have also learnt how to use a drill, and let
me tell you, I feel totally liberated!
No wall is safe now from my new found talent!
This cabinet from Decorative Country Living is filled
with all things Daisy along with some vintage Christmas treasure.

A close up of the Christmas bauble...

a glimpse at the hallway decorations...

and finally,  a teaser picture!
All will be revealed tomorrow!

Its so lovely to be back.
Thanks for reading.

Hello and sorry

Hello and sorry it's been so long.
In my last post I was off to Cornwall for a week.
It turned out to be only for 4 nights as my Mum had
a fall and was taken into hospital where she then developed pneumonia and
I had to make a dash (7 hours on the train!) for home.

I'm pleased to say she is making a slow recovery and came out
of hospital on Tuesday evening and I've been staying to look after her.
It's been quite a scare after loosing Dad at the beginning of May.

Normal life is once again on hold for a while.
I have so much to share with you.
Button swaps, birthday presents, the garden and
some new makes but for now I had these photos
already loaded of a few recent purchases so
I thought I would share them with you.

I bought this bedside table from Decorative Country Living
a couple of months ago.

It was love at first sight.

As  it was with these little roses for a little nook in my home
 that doesn't get much light.

And then there was the jug that went with them!
Very, very beautiful you see.

I hope to be back on track very soon.
In the meantime thanks for stopping by.
Love and hugs

Thursdays surprise

This is what I should have been sorting
out this afternoon.
The awful landing that I walk passed
with blinkers on every morning.

But on my trip out this morning I bought this
magazine as I do most months.
(heart hiding big orange Sainsburys
none removable sticker - yuk!)

So I poured a drink and opened
another button Easter egg (I'm on my
third this year - what can I say?)
and was happily browsing through
the pages when I looked at this
page and thought that heart looks familiar.

So I had a closer look...

and realised it was one that I had made!

Here it is with a few others I designed at the same time.

Then a few pages later was another one...

hiding in a basket.  This one was made out
of an old quilt piece.

I have to say it has made my day.
I had no idea they were going in the magazine.
A big thank you to Amanda at  Decorative Country Living
for sending them in.
Well back to the regular world.
I should probably go and clear the landing now.
Have a lovely evening.

In Need Of Some Cheeriness

Today I needed some cheeriness.
So I put on my favourite coat and red wellies
and went on a drive.

Here's where I ended up.
Another on my list of favourite places.

Two bags of gorgeousness later I left.
Here's a couple of things that I've unpacked so far.

A winter garland
and some new tea light holders.

Then on my way home I have to drive through Newark
so I also popped back into Newark Antiques Centre
and found this.

A pink, french, childrens chalk board.

Now I know that I'm leaving my old school house soon
but I just couldn't resist it.
I can always hang it on a wall and use it for shopping lists.

And it asked so politely to come with me.
'S'il vous plaît Madame'.

How could I refuse? Really!
Enjoy your evening.
Love

The Best Of Birthdays x

This was one day I wasn't particularly looking forward to this year. But it turned out to be one of the best birthdays I've ever had!

It started with birthday banners, balloons and
lots of pressies to open full of special gifts.

Then a surprise bouquet arrived :) Beautiful x Then off I went with a friend to one of my favourite places Decorative Country Living.

I actually ran out of vases by the end of the day! The house smells lovely.

Heartfelt cards with words that meant so much.

And daisies. There always has to be daisies. My garden is full of them this year and they make
me smile everyday. :)

Lots of friends for the tea party. Suzanne has been my friend from our first day at school 42 years ago.

Ahh delicious cakes made by my Rosie Roo ... Yum
To all of my family, friends and facebook pals I would like to say a great big thank you for making it such a fab day xxx
